KL University hits milestone with its largest placement drive, over 1500 students secure offers from TCS
KL University, counted among the top universities in South India for over 45 years, has added another feather to its cap. 1,534 engineering students from the 2027 graduating batch have received offer letters from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in a single campus recruitment exercise. This is the largest single-company placement drive to date at KLU.
The recruitment drive, confirmed by university management on Tuesday, saw 1,311 students placed from the Vijayawada campus and 223 from the Hyderabad campus. Candidates went through a rigorous, multi-stage selection process comprising written tests, coding assessments, and personal interviews before securing their offers, making this one of the largest placement achievements in the institution's history.
The TCS drive adds to the university's consistently strong placement record. KL University has maintained 100% placement for eligible, registered students for two decades, running a streak that university officials point to as evidence of a stable, industry-aligned academic model rather than a one-off achievement.
In the current placement season, the university has recorded over 6,500 offers across 342 recruiting companies, with the highest package touching ₹81 LPA, figures that place it among the more consistent performers in campus recruitment nationally.
The university holds a #26 NIRF ranking and Category I status from the UGC, and has extended over ₹100 crore in merit scholarships to students. Thus, standing as an institution that combines academic credibility with tangible student outcomes.
For the students placed with TCS, the offers mean early career stability straight out of college, at a time when families continue to view placement records as a decisive factor in choosing an engineering institution.
A drive of this scale signals sustained hiring confidence from major IT firms in engineering talent coming out of South India's universities, showcasing the growing role these institutions play in feeding the country's technology workforce and strengthening South India's position as a hub for IT talent.
